Edvard Munch's "Ekely"

Construction of the villa, 1897.

"In the beginning of 1916, the 53-year-old Edvard Munch acquired the well-kept smallholding Ekely, by Skøyen in the parish of Vestre Aker in the outskirts of Christiania, Oslo’s name at the time. Munch soon took up residence here, having lived for nearly three years on the peninsula of Jeløya outside the city of Moss."
